Industrial Refrigeration Technical College offers New EPA Compliance Application

Industrial Refrigeration Technical College (IRTC), a high-tech, industrial ammonia refrigeration training facility, is pleased to offer eCompliance, an application for maintaining Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Air Act compliance by securely documenting refrigerant inventory, recovery, disposal, and reclaiming, as well as system maintenance. Data collected through the application is stored for risk management and hazard assessment planning. “eCompliance was created to serve as an all-in-one repository for information relevant to EPA compliance,” said Frank Boykin, Industrial Refrigeration Instructor, IRTC. “The application serves as a Clean Air Act compliance manager and sends notifications for both upcoming and elapsed preventative maintenance.” eCompliance also digitizes refrigeration systems and classifies equipment by EPA type; calculates leak rates; sends EPA leak repair requirement notifications; allows for technician management; and provides inventory and certification tracking. Industrial Refrigeration Technical College (IRTC) is the top ammonia refrigeration education facility in the nation. IRTC offers educational opportunities for aspiring ammonia refrigeration technicians, as well as current technicians and operators through a combination of classroom and hands-on, real-life training in our state-of-the-art training facility. IRTC is a RETA-certified testing center. To learn more about IRTC, please call 540.941.1991 or visit us online at www.ammoniatraining.org.

Industrial Refrigeration Technical College offers New Process Safety Management Application

Industrial Refrigeration Technical College (IRTC), a high-tech, industrial ammonia refrigeration training facility, is pleased to offer ePSM, an Internet-based Process Safety Management/ Risk Management (PSM) program designed to help facilities comply with Environmental Protection Agency Clean Air Act and Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines through powerful analytic tools and reporting capabilities. “This is a robust organizational tool that will allow facility managers comply with industry regulations through a suite of online reports and alerts,” said IRTC’s Lead Instructor, Jay Voissem, P.E. “Users can input all relevant information through customized online inspection reports, as well as upload supporting documents, to ensure that accurate records are available.” Reminders are sent when an action is necessary to meet compliance requirements, as well as upcoming schedules of inspections and audits. In addition, the IRTC Service Department audits ePSM records and alerts clients of any missing information necessary to complete inspections. All of this information is available for users in one consolidated, secure application that is easily edited and searched. Additional ePSM program features include executive summary; employee participation/committee notes; process safety information; process hazard analysis; contractor safety; safety review; mechanical integrity; hot work permit; change management; incident investigation; emergency planning and response; compliance audits; hazard assessment; and management programs.
